Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool as a fundamental part of their daily life. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
