Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, featuring long piles and wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, crafted by Iranian nomads meticulously hand-weaving each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to be so durable it can last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And, of course, their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
