Features of Persian Hand-Knotted Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-knotted one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and allow to dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-knotted, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-knotted product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like to have the tassels removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
