Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads one by one with naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And, above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are not only perfect for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used to color the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon shipment

The pom-poms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
