Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically graze their sheep in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They use vegetable-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to its high lanolin content, which helps regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh, woven meticulously by hand, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their soft and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing overheating.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For気になる汚れの場合：中性洗剤（毛・絹用）を水で薄め、かたく絞ったタオル等で表面をやさしく拭いてください。その後丁寧に水拭きして、洗剤を拭きとってから風通しの良い日陰で乾かしてください。 stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
