This is a hand-woven Persian Gabbeh rug, perfect for placing in your living room or in front of your sofa. It's approximately 2 tatami mats in size, making it easy to place under a dining table, for example. You can use it in any place in your home where you want to relax. It's soft, plush, and has a pleasant feel that can be enjoyed all year round. Being a unique hand-woven item, enjoy a design that is truly one of a kind. This Gabbeh is woven with fine threads, and while it takes more effort to weave, it results in a Lizebaft Gabbeh, which is thinner than regular Gabbeh rugs and has a tighter weave. "Lize" means "fine" and "baft" means "weave" in Persian.

Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from long-piled, vegetable-dyed wool. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, is derived from sheep that thrive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains. This wool boasts excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture due to its high fat content, which helps the sheep regulate their body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven with this wool by Iranian nomads, meticulously dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and delightful feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is so durable that it is said to last for 100 years. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing you from feeling hot. And above all, there's its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used for the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
