Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are rooted in the nomadic life of the Qashqai tribe, who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture, as Iranian nomads dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each one.
A tightly woven Gabbeh rug is said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing heat.
And, above all, is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
