Characteristics of the Region (Nain)
Nain is a city located in central Iran, near Isfahan. Nain rugs are very popular and resemble the designs of Isfahan. Cotton is used for the foundation, and wool and silk are often used for the pile. The designs frequently feature Shah Abbasi floral patterns in the medallion. Ivory and beige are typically used for the field color, with accents of red, green, blue, and pink often added. The Habibian workshop is particularly famous, known for its high-quality rugs.
What is a Persian Rug?
A Persian rug is a rug woven in Iran. It has a long history and is renowned for its beauty and durability, lasting for generations. It is one of the most outstanding art crafts representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in rug design and materials used by region, Iran boasts a wide variety of rugs. From delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple, geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian nomadic tribes, there is great diversity. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a Persian rug with its unique, one-of-a-kind charm into your room, you can further enhance its atmosphere.
Daily Care (Wool & Silk)
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the nap of the rug. For persistent stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please appreciate these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
