The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, and it has a natural matrix pattern where the turquoise and rock are mixed. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the rock enhances the blue of the turquoise.

This is an original design unique to our store, created by Mr. Javaheri, a famous Iranian engraver. Mr. Javaheri was an engraver who worked as one of the royal family's jewelers during the reign of King Pahlavi. While lecturing at Tehran University of Art, he created jewelry for our store from 1990 to 2007. The delicate design, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise stone, further enhances the charm of the turquoise. The back of each turquoise stone is hand-engraved with gold to match the stone's shape.

Characteristics of Persian Natural Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, originally mined in ancient Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, which is how the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality with high hardness, displaying a vivid and deep sky blue color known as "the color of the spring sky." In fact, it was the first stone used by humanity as an amulet for protection.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality producing region, turquoise of varying qualities is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other countries. While many American Arizona turquoise stones are brought into Japan, this Persian natural "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to its decreasing output in recent years, making it quite valuable.
