Characteristics of the Region (Shiraz)
Shiraz is a city in southwestern Iran, famous for its tribal rugs. Local ethnic groups hand-weave rugs using traditional methods, and these finished products are then sold in nearby bazaars. The pile of these rugs is primarily made of wool, which provides warmth and durability to the entire rug. Characteristic designs commonly seen in tribal rugs, such as medallions and geometric patterns, are often found in the center of the rug. Generally, the red and brown fields are adorned with a variety of colors such as beige, yellow, blue, and green, giving the entire rug a rich palette. Thus, Shiraz rugs are known for their warm designs and color schemes.
What are Persian Rugs?
Persian rugs are rugs woven in Iran. They have a long history and are famous for their beauty and durability, lasting for generations. They are one of the most excellent fine art and craft items representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in design and materials used depending on the region of origin, there is a wide variety of rugs in Iran. From delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian ethnic groups, the range is vast. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a Persian rug with its unique, one-of-a-kind charm into your room, you can further enhance its atmosphere.
Daily Care (Wool & Silk)
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If you spill drinks, immediately absorb the liquid with an absorbent material (such as kitchen paper or tissue), then wipe with a damp cloth.
If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape, weaving, and dye. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
