Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
