Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each one, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, providing a cool sensation.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being unique and original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
