Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and has a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool even in hot weather.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original, one-of-a-kind piece.
They can be placed on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Vacuum or sweep in the direction of the pile to remove dust and debris.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
