Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven from naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in lanolin for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created by the nomads from their imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove any detergent residue and air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for your order to be shipped without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
