Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
