Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who wander the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with long piles, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with drastic temperature changes between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And above all, their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find a Gabbeh that you can cherish forever, a special one just for you?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dye used on the wool. The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
