Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to effectively regulate body temperature.
The Gabbeh, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using this naturally dyed wool, is characterized by its fluffy and pleasant feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so it does not feel hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. The Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
