Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for living in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads, using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a comfortable coolness. And, above all, is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur. The scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery if requested. Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish for the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
