Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them from vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pom-poms removed, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
