Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, hand-weaving them from vegetable-dyed wool. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, crafted by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for your order to be shipped without tassels, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
