Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily life, made from plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made by dyeing this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
