Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomadic people in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven carefully by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Gabbeh rugs that are tightly woven are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And, above all, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery if requested.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish for the pompoms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
