Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant feel with high oil content for effective thermoregulation.
Gabbeh are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture, as Iranian nomads dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each one.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated, making them feel cool in summer.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
