Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, showcasing their exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing discomfort from heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
While the smell will gradually dissipate with use, we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
