Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a high amount of oil, allowing for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, crafted by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Firmly woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by their warmth in winter and their breathability in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinct smell from the dyes used on the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
