Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep living in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possessing excellent durability for survival and a high fat content for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool.
This wool is dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven, one strand at a time, by Iranian nomads, resulting in Gabbeh rugs that are fluffy and pleasant to the touch.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing it from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can enjoy for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
