Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that live in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, providing excellent durability for survival and containing a high amount of lanolin for effective thermoregulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously woven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. The Gabbeh created from the imagination of the nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Tassels can be removed before shipping

The tassels on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the tassels will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
