Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, handwoven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand by Iranian nomads after dyeing this wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plump and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
