Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing the sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for good body temperature regulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-touch fibers.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads thread by thread from wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

The pompoms attached to the corners and sides of the Gabbeh rug can be removed and shipped without them upon request.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like your order shipped without the pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
