Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this wool, dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it beforehand.
