Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and has historically been connected by the Silk Road. In Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and races live, traditional hand-woven "kilims" are particularly famous. The use of colors in Varamin kilims has changed over time; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use calmer, darker shades. While various patterns exist in the designs, the geometric pattern known as "Cheshm Gir" is particularly characteristic of this region. Wool is the primary material, but some kilims also incorporate cotton, creating variations in touch and texture.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular and are traditional hand-woven textiles that become more appealing with age. They are categorized by the era in which they were woven as vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some kilims using cotton or silk are also produced. Natural materials are used, and natural dyes are employed for coloring, ensuring peace of mind when using them. These hand-woven kilims are durable and based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups inhabit the vast land of Iran. The designs and colors vary by region, offering a wide array of design patterns to enjoy.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are not only used simply as carpets or floor coverings but are also widely used as decorative items for walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interior spaces. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive features, often utilized as accents in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items but are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add unique charm and warmth to a room's space. By utilizing kilims, you can achieve a life surrounded by art and comfort, and enjoy a lifestyle surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims are highly versatile and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, kilims can be combined with wooden furniture, plants, or natural materials to enhance their warmth and natural ambiance. They also pair well with bohemian aesthetics; laying them on the floor or hanging them on a wall can elevate the overall feel of the room. Kilims have an ethnic and tribal feel, making them compatible with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, and Morocco. Placing them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you are concerned about stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
