Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural lanolin for temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. These Gabbehs, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to be so durable that it can last for 100 years. Gabbehs, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls. How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap. If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the wool dyes. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed upon request for shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon your request. Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
