Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content that effectively regulates body temperature. Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, with each strand carefully dyed with natural dyes and hand-woven, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If it is dirty: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, thoroughly wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
