Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
