Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who lead a nomadic life in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life, featuring long piles and using wool dyed with natural plant extracts. The Persian variant wool used in this product, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant feel, rich in natural oils to regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the unique property of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each piece a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are not only perfect for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique scent from the wool dyes.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon your request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for the pom-poms to be removed, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
