Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, as well as soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers containing a rich amount of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.

Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran meticulously hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.

For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.

Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.

This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.

Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
