Characteristics of the Origin (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, part of Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are also known as "Suzani" or "Silky Pichi", and the city is registered as a kilim weaving region by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Sirjan kilims are characterized by their extremely fine and firm weave. Nomadic women weave them from imagination without a pattern, so their delicacy and intricacy are astonishing. They are soumak woven, so the surface is not very fluffy, and animal and geometric patterns are common.
Sirjan kilims also often feature deep colors, with dyes extracted from cherries for red, eggplant skin for blue, saffron for yellow, walnut leaves for green, and walnut shells or tobacco for brown. Due to these characteristics, Sirjan kilims are highly regarded worldwide and cherished as beautiful crafts.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that grow richer with age. Depending on the era they were woven, they are called vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some kilims using cotton or silk are also produced. Natural materials are used. Since natural dyes are also used, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the tribal or ethnic design styles known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The design and color characteristics differ by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are not simply used as rugs or floor coverings, but are also widely utilized as wall hangings or as decorative items for other interiors such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often used as accents in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items but are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the living space. By incorporating kilims, you can create a life surrounded by art and comfort, and enjoy living surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

The use of kilims is highly flexible and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, the unique patterns and colors of kilims can be introduced into simple spaces to create an accent. For natural and Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, or natural materials can enhance the warmth and natural atmosphere of the kilim. They also blend well with a bohemian vibe; placing them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the overall ambiance of the room. Kilims have an ethnic design and tribal atmosphere, making them well-suited for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If it gets dirty, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe it thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shade.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please enjoy these as part of the unique charm of hand-woven items.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
