Characteristics of the origin (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in the southern part of Iran, belonging to Kerman province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are called "Suzani" or "Silky Pich," and the region is registered as a Kilim producing area by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).
Sirjan Kilims are characterized by their extremely intricate and firm weave. Nomadic women weave them based on their imagination without a pattern, so their delicacy and intricacy are astonishing. They are Soumak woven, have very little fluff on the surface, and often feature animal and geometric patterns.
Furthermore, Sirjan Kilims often have deep colors, with cherry red, eggplant skin blue, saffron yellow, walnut leaf green, and walnut skin or tobacco brown being used as dyes. Due to these characteristics, Sirjan Kilims are highly regarded worldwide and are cherished as beautiful crafts.

What is Kilim?

Persian hand-woven Kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become more appealing with age. Depending on the era in which they were woven, they are called vintage Kilims, old Kilims, or antique Kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most Kilims are made of wool, but some are also made with cotton or silk. Natural materials are used. Since natural dyes are also used for dyeing, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven Kilims are sturdily woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each Kilim has a unique design.
The vast land of Iran is home to various ethnic groups. The designs and colors vary by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings but also as decorative items on walls, sofas, tables, beds, and other interior furnishings. Their unique designs and colors are characteristic and are often used as accents in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items but are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a room's space. By utilizing Kilims, you can create a life with art and a comfortable life, enjoying a life surrounded by your favorite things.

Kilims and interior design

The use of Kilims is very flexible and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, incorporating the unique patterns and colors of Kilims into a simple space adds an accent to the space. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining them with wooden furniture, plants, or interiors made of natural materials can enhance the warmth and natural atmosphere of the Kilim. They also go well with a bohemian atmosphere; by laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall, they can enhance the overall atmosphere of the room. Kilims have ethnic designs and a tribal feel, and they go well with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, Morocco, and other regions. By placing them as tapestries or cushions, you can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you are concerned about stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, weaving, and dyeing. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.

I was looking for a rug when I saw Persia Direct's Persian rugs on Instagram and decided to visit their store. The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
