Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and is a region historically connected by the Silk Road. In Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and peoples live, traditional hand-woven "kilims" are particularly famous. The colors used in Varamin kilims change with the times; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use calmer, darker colors. While various patterns exist in the designs, geometric patterns known as "Cheshm Gir" are particularly characteristic of this region. Wool is the primary material, but some kilims also incorporate cotton, creating variations in texture and feel.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular and are traditional hand-woven textiles that become more charming with age. They are categorized as vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims depending on the era they were woven, and are loved by people of all ages. While most kilims are made of wool, some are also produced using cotton or silk. They use natural materials. Since natural dyes are also used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups live in the vast land of Iran. The design and color characteristics vary by region, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings but also as decorative wall hangings, and as accents for other interior items like sofas, tables, and beds. Their distinctive designs and colors are a prominent feature, and they are often used to add an accent to a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items; they are positioned as important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a living space. By utilizing kilims, you can achieve a lifestyle surrounded by art and comfort, enjoying a life filled with your favorite things.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims are highly versatile and can be incorporated into various interior design styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent to the room. For natural or Nordic interiors, pairing kilims with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance their warmth and natural ambiance. They also blend well with a bohemian atmosphere; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the overall feel of the room. Kilims feature ethnic designs and a tribal feel, making them compatible with interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Placing them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If it's noticeably dirty, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
