Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and has historically been connected by the Silk Road. In Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and races live, traditional hand-woven "kilims" are particularly famous. The colors used in Varamin kilims have changed over time; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use calmer, darker colors. While various patterns exist in the designs, a geometric pattern known as "Cheshm Gir" is particularly characteristic of this region. The primary material is wool, but some kilims also incorporate cotton, creating variations in texture and feel.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular and are traditional hand-woven textiles that grow richer in character with use. Depending on the era in which they were woven, they are referred to as vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. Most kilims are made of wool, but some are also produced using cotton or silk. They use natural materials, and since natural dyes are used for coloring, you can use them with peace of mind. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
Various ethnic groups inhabit the vast land of Iran. Each region of origin has distinct design and color characteristics, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings but also as wall hangings or as decorative items for other furniture such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often utilized as accent pieces in rooms. Kilims are not just decorative items; they are important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to any space. By incorporating kilims, you can create a life with art, a comfortable life, and enjoy being surrounded by things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims are highly versatile and can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, the unique patterns and colors of a kilim can add an accent to a minimalist space. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining kilims with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance their warmth and natural ambiance. They also pair well with bohemian aesthetics; placing them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the entire room's atmosphere. Kilims feature ethnic designs and a tribal feel, making them compatible with interior styles that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you notice any stubborn dirt, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please enjoy these as part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
