Characteristics of the Region (Sirjan)

Sirjan is a city located in southern Iran, belonging to Kerman Province. Kilims woven in Sirjan are also known as "Suzani" or "Siriki pich" and the region is registered by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a kilim weaving center.
Sirjan kilims are characterized by their extremely dense and firm weave. Nomadic women weave these kilims without patterns, relying on their imagination, making their delicacy and intricacy astonishing. They employ the Soumak weave, which results in a surface with little fluff, and often feature animal or geometric patterns.
Sirjan kilims also boast rich colors, with dyes extracted from cherries for red, eggplant skin for blue, saffron for yellow, walnut leaves for green, and walnut husks or tobacco for brown. These characteristics have earned Sirjan kilims high acclaim worldwide, making them cherished works of art.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular, traditional hand-woven textiles that grow richer with age. Depending on the era they were woven, they are referred to as vintage, old, or antique kilims, and are loved by people of all ages. While most kilims are made of wool, some are produced using cotton or silk. They utilize natural materials. As natural dyes are used for coloring, they are safe to use. These hand-woven kilims are sturdily woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They feature geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, and each kilim has a unique design.
The vast land of Iran is home to various ethnic groups. The designs and color characteristics vary by region, offering a diverse range of design patterns to enjoy.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple rugs or floor coverings but also as decorative items hung on walls, or as part of other interior elements such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their unique designs and colors are distinctive, and they are often utilized to add an accent to a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items; they enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and serve as important elements that highlight individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to a living space. By incorporating kilims, you can create a life surrounded by art and comfort, enjoying a lifestyle filled with things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims offer great flexibility in how they can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space adds an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining kilims with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance their warmth and organic feel. They also pair well with a bohemian atmosphere; laying them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the entire room's ambiance. Kilims possess ethnic designs and a tribal feel, making them a good match for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, and Morocco. Placing them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you notice stains, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or dye variations. Please enjoy these aspects as part of the charm of a hand-woven piece.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
