Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains abundant lanolin, enabling effective body temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs woven by Iranian nomads, meticulously hand-tying each strand of naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with significant daily temperature fluctuations, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created imaginatively by nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They are beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall, not just on the floor. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, a piece that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present. The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
