Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, made by meticulously hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
