Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh conditions of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content that allows for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh are made by Iranian nomads who carefully dye this wool with natural dyes and hand-weave each strand, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item.
They can be laid on the floor, or even hung on walls as art.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
If you notice stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
