Features of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh are hand-woven rugs with long piles made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made from such wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be used on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping.

The pom-poms located at the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped to you upon request.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
