This is a hand-woven wool and silk Persian rug, made in Iran (Persia).
It's a large rug size, suitable for spacious living areas. At approximately 3.5 tatami mats in size, it's also a good fit for large sofas, such as three-seaters.

Tranj (Medallion) Pattern

The most distinctive feature of the popular and traditional Tranj pattern is the circular or oval design placed in the center of the rug. Symmetrical patterns and decorations spread out around it, creating a beautiful design. Tranj pattern rugs suit any room, and are especially recommended for placement in front of a living room sofa or as a centerpiece in a room.

Gol Pattern (Floral Pattern)

The Gol pattern is a common design found in Persian rugs. It is used in various production areas such as Kerman, Isfahan, Kashan, Nain, and Qom. Various types of flowers are depicted, often including roses and traditional Persian designs such as the Shah Abbasi flower. In the Sarasar pattern, the size of the flowers stands out, and sometimes small flowers are arranged around the Tranj pattern. It harmonizes with any room.

Enjoy a comfortable life with a unique, hand-woven Persian rug, a one-of-a-kind design.

Characteristics of the Region (Tabriz)

Tabriz is a city in northwestern Iran and a very famous and popular rug-making center. It boasts a rich variety of designs and colors, and was also the capital of Iran during the Safavid dynasty. The oldest Tabriz rugs date back to 1500, and exports overseas began around 1900. Tabriz has many highly skilled rug weavers, and silk and cotton are often used as foundation materials for rugs. Wool and silk are mainly used for the pile, and its weave is characterized by its extreme fineness. The designs are also diverse, including beautiful medallion patterns, traditional Persian Mahi designs, Gonbadi patterns inspired by mosque ceilings, popular floral patterns, and even pictorial designs. The color palette is also rich, with pastel colors often seen in rugs made of wool and silk. Thus, Tabriz rugs are highly recommended for their rich variety of designs and colors.

What is a Persian Rug?

A Persian rug is a rug woven in Iran. It has a long history and is famous for its beauty and durability, passed down through generations. It is one of the most outstanding artistic crafts representing Iranian culture and art. Due to differences in rug design and materials used depending on the region of origin, Iran has a wide variety of rugs. These range from delicate and intricate designs woven in workshops to simple, geometric tribal rugs woven by Iranian nomadic tribes. The main materials used are wool and silk. The beautiful designs and delicate color schemes of Persian rugs possess a unique charm. By incorporating a Persian rug with its own unique charm into your room, you can further enhance its atmosphere.

Daily Care (Wool & Silk)

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap. If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, weaving, and dyeing. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.

I was looking for a rug when I saw Persia Direct's Persian rugs on Instagram and decided to visit their store. The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
