Features of Natural Persian Firuze (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, originally found in Persia (Iran), reached Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is of the highest quality, characterized by its high hardness and vibrant, deep sky-blue color, often referred to as "the color of spring sky." In fact, it was the first stone used by humankind as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality producing region, turquoise of varying qualities is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other countries. While much of the turquoise imported into Japan comes from Arizona in the USA, Persian "firuze (turquoise)" has seen a drastic decrease in production in recent years, making it rare and thus not widely introduced.
