The turquoise used in this accessory is called Shajar, and it has a natural matrix pattern where turquoise and stone are mixed. Shajar means "tree with branches" in Persian, and the branch-like texture of the stone enhances the blue color of the turquoise.

This is a one-of-a-kind original design by our store, crafted by the renowned Iranian engraver Mr. Javaheri. Mr. Leather Javaheri was a master engraver who served as one of the royal family's jewelers during the Pahlavi dynasty. While lecturing at the University of Tehran's Faculty of Fine Arts, he created our store's jewelry from 1990 to 2007. His delicate designs, tailored to the unique characteristics of each turquoise, further enhance the charm of the stones. The back of each turquoise is individually engraved with gold, matching the shape of the stone.

Characteristics of Natural Persian Firoozeh (Turquoise) Jewelry

This stone, mined in ancient Persia (Iran), was brought to Europe via Turkey, and the word "Turkish" became the origin of its name. Persian turquoise is a high-quality stone with a high hardness and a vivid, deep sky-blue color, known as the "color of the spring sky." In fact, it was the first stone used by humanity as a protective amulet.

In Persia, it was cherished as the stone of the royal family for many years, and this Persian blue was also highly valued during the Victorian era.
Besides Iran, the best quality source, turquoise of varying quality is also produced in Australia, America, China, Egypt, and other places. While American Arizona turquoise is often brought to Japan, this Persian "Firoozeh (turquoise)" is rarely introduced due to the drastic decrease in its production in recent years, making it very valuable.
