Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as an integral part of their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, woven by hand by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive smell from the dyes used on the wool.

Removing the pompoms does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
