Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before shipping upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
